About this event

Did you know...

  • IKEA is one of the largest retailers in the world with more than 800 million annual customers
  • IKEA operates more than 450 stores worldwide
  • IKEA depends on the Port of Vancouver for some of its merchandise

Join us on this behind-the-scenes tour of IKEA's 330,000 square foot customer distribution centre to see how IKEA fulfils online orders. As one of the world's largest retail chains, IKEA depends upon its network of stores and distribution centres to meet customer demand in a timely, cost efficient and environmentally responsible way.

On this tour, our IKEA hosts will walk us through its massive Vancouver Customer Distribution Centre which is located on land owned by the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority. This distribution centre is a warehouse and distribution hub for the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, Alberta and Northwest Territories. You will witness firsthand how IKEA products are received, organized, re-packaged and sent out for delivery. This tour will allow participants to see IKEA's operations like never before with special attention paid to daily operations, adoption of technology, strategic initiatives and company culture.
