This small group book club reads a chapter of a common book in advance of a meeting and has a chat about the pages read in the next session. The book being used will last their 'season' which is September to June (There are no July/August meetings).
Our common book is chosen by the group. The co-ordinator sources a short list of books and sends the suggestions to the members, who vote their choice. Majority rules. The book maybe be available free via library book club kits or we purchase them, either through the co-ordinator as a bulk order, or individually. Our book for the current 'season' is short stories by Jeffrey Archer, The Short, the Long and the Tall, which we purchased. We also bring our own personal book(s) to chat about, lend, etc.
