✨ This will be the last Full Moon Ceremony, thank you to everyone who has joined me these past six months! ✨
What is the importance of the Full Moon?
Embrace the radiant symbolism of the upcoming Full Moon! This celestial embodiment of completeness signifies a cycle's wholeness, offering a spiritually charged atmosphere. Join us as we harmonize with the lunar energy, fostering deep relaxation and restoration for a truly rejuvenating experience! 🌕 This ceremony incorporates ocean drums, chimes, rainsticks, and an altar in a candlelit sanctuary for you to melt away into the embrace of your mat.
Come with me as we create a snug and inviting sanctuary, sinking into our yoga mats and props as we commemorate the completion of the lunar cycle with rest. This hour-and-a-half practice will take place on May 25th at 8:00 PM at Vancity Yoga - join me during this Full Moon to find rest and relaxation!
What is an altar, and why is it important?
This Full Moon Celebration will include an altar where items of importance can be brought to and placed to cherish. Altars hone in healing, love, the divine, and much more - by placing an item of importance on the altar, not only are you cherishing it, but bringing it a renewed sense of energy on the day of the Full Moon. Many things can be placed on the altar, such as photos, stones, plants, and anything that holds special importance to you!
What is Restorative Yoga?
Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice that focuses on relaxation. It involves passive poses held for 5 to 20 minutes with props for support. Its goal is to activate the body's relaxation response (i.e., the parasympathetic nervous system), reducing stress and promoting calmness. Suitable for all levels, it's beneficial for stress relief, healing, and promoting balance.
For this gentle and restful practice, here are a few things to consider:
- Yoga mats, blocks, bolsters, and straps will be provided by the studio! However, if you prefer to bring your own, or extra props, you are absolutely more than welcome to! Props are all about creating space, use as many as your body calls for!
- Bring a blanket! While the studio is room-temperature, since we will not be moving, a blanket can help keep you warm and extra cozy. You are not required to bring one, but it is highly recommended so you can maximize your comfort during this practice.
- Wear comfortable clothing! Wear articles that make you feel comfortable in your practice; anything from leggings to joggers, the option is up to you - your comfort is a priority.
