Future of the Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division

Welcome to the Future of the Women in Engineering and Geoscience Division event! Join us to discuss challenges and opportunities for women engineering and geoscience in BC. As you may know as part of the restructuring of EGBC and creation of the Advocacy body (now known as the BC Society of Engineering and Geoscience), the WiEG division has been shut down and all women in engineering programs will now fall under the ausipicies of the EGBC EDI umbrella. This may work better for EGBC, will it work for us?

This hybrid event is a great opportunity to network with like-minded professionals, share experiences, and pave the way for future generations of women in engineering and geoscience. Come be a part of this important discussion. Our starting panel is comprised of Michelle Mahovolich, current Chair of the Board of Directors of EGBC, Daphne Sidaway-Wolf, current branch rep for the Victoria Branch, Bridget Cassidy, Self-appointed Social Coordinator for the Women Engineers/geoscientists in Victoria and Robyn Quinn, founder and board member of iWIST. Our moderator is Dr. Katherina Tarnai-Lokhorst.

This is a hybrid event. We have room for up to 60 people for the in person portion in room 660 of the ECS building at UVic. The in person portion will include a light lunch. A link will be emailed to anyone wishing to participate virtually by Zoom.

For the in person portion only, sign up by email to dawegvictoria@gmail.com. The cut off for the in person registration is end of day May 5.
