About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

The event will begin with a tribute to the Afzaal family, followed by the release of CMW’s 3rd annual "Snapshot of Hate in Waterloo Region" report. Based on the trends in the report, the last segment will be a roundtable discussion on: Global Waves, Local Ripples: Examining the Impact of International Events on Community Relations. This community session aims to foster dialogue and collective understanding around the alarming increase of Islamophobia, Antisemitism, Anti-Palestinian racism and Anti-Arab racism in our community.

Your presence and participation will be invaluable for this conversation .

You can register for this event for free or by donation.

Donations are greatly appreciated and help us provide victim support for hate and discrimination through Anti Hate Services. There are various ways the CMW uses your gifts.

We connect victims with services, such as Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, housing, etc. We advocate on victims' behalf with various service providers. We join victims for case meetings and help them file complaints and write letters. We provide culturally sensitive counselling. We also support resolution of neighbourhood conflicts/problems related to racism, Islamophobia, and xenophobia.

You can sign up to become a monthly donor or make a one-time gift using this link.
