About this event

  • 1 day 8 hours

GMG is heading back to Sudbury with a 2-day forum on June 18-19. Agnico Eagle, CEMI, Glencore, MacLean Engineering, NORCAT and Vale are helping us develop a program that addresses mining’s top priorities.

GMG Forums are in person. The input we gather through the discussions, panels and working sessions result in content for our guideline projects, seed information for potential future projects, and invaluable knowledge and ideas for participants to bring back to their companies.

Priority areas to be explored in Sudbury include:

  • The deployment and use of AI, simulation, and other applications of data in the development, design and ongoing mine operations
  • Autonomous mining
  • Decarbonization, energy management and emissions reduction
  • Safety
  • Operational best practices
  • Rethinking mine design
  • Workforce of the future
  • Cybersecurity and de-risking operations

We will hear case studies and demonstrations from innovators, implementers, and operators; peers will share experiences and expertise to define opportunities; and together we look across and outside the mining industry for new ways to better how we mine.

This highly interactive forum features workshops, open discussions, interactive panels and presentations. The focus is on sharing knowledge of what is actually working in our mines and what is coming down the pipeline, as well as building relationships and collaborating with peers.

Participants regularly report that the level of frank, honest, and interesting discussion is very helpful, and they make multiple new contacts and relationships that feed into the future with follow-up meetings.
