Light & Optical Systems - 6:00pm

How can selfies, 3-D movies and high-speed internet be used to teach Light and Optics? Get students excited by everyday light technologies, including fiber optics, cell phone cameras and lasers. Nelson Epp, a passionate engineer and Amanda Green, a dynamic science teacher will share cool tools and activities for bringing hands-on science into your classroom. Build confidence and make physics fun!

Freshwater & Saltwater Systems - 7:30pm

Earth’s water systems are fascinating and complex. Explore our remarkable blue planet with Mathew Langford, a passionate water resource engineer and professor at the University of Alberta. Discover connections between water, land, climate and living things by diving into activities that will have your students thinking about this important resource in a whole new way.
