Join us for Growing Growers: Vegetable Gardening Workshops! Hybrid Online and In-Person

Growing Growers teaches a simple, productive gardening approach that enables anyone to grow their own food. Whether you are a first-time gardener or a veteran grower, we expect that you will benefit from this low-cost approach to growing delicious, healthy food to feed you, your family and friends. By the end of this 8 hour (2-day) workshop, you will be ready to plan, install, plant, tend and harvest your own growing space, as well as be inspired to teach others to start their own gardens.

Growing Growers is based on Foundations for Farming (FfF) principles:

Should you choose to sign up for one of our 2-day Vegetable Growing Workshops, here are some topics we will explore:

  • The Need for a Conservation Agriculture approach
  • Soil stewardship and crop rotation
  • Garden planning, layout and installation
  • Planting, care and harvesting
  • Integrated pest management and pest control with home remedies
  • Compost, compost teas, and other organic fertilizers
  • Sharing your garden with others

Growing Growers workshops are ideal for:

  • Beginner gardeners
  • Those wanting to implement without needless complexity
  • Those wanting to grow using organic and environmentally sound methods
  • Those needing to grow in small spaces (back yards, balconies, etc.)
  • We think its important to learn as a family, therefore a few 2for1 deals allow half price if you bring your partner!

What should I wear?

Weather appropriate clothing is required which should include layers depending on the weather, a rain coat or windbreakers, supportive shoes or boots you can get dirty, gardening or regular gloves, hat, sunscreen

What should I bring?

Sun protection and a water bottle and a packed lunch. Healthy snacks and water refills will be provided.
