About this event

  • 2 hours

Organized by

The Twin City Harmonizers are a member of The Barbershop Harmony Society, an international singing organization with  members throughout the United States and Canada.

Our chorus, that began in 1946, meets weekly for three hours to learn and improve our four-part, close harmony singing without music or instrumental accompaniment and to improve our musical presentation for stage performances and competitions.

We serve our community by donating money, earned from audiences who pay for our entertainment, to charities in the Waterloo Region and beyond.

Our vision is to be known throughout Waterloo Region as the best amateur singing group to engage for entertainment and service to the community.

Our goal is to provide opportunities and encouragement to men of all ages to sing a cappella, four-part close harmony in the barbershop style, and to perform publicly for lifelong enjoyment and enrichment of ourselves, our audiences, and those we serve.

We Value

  • Welcoming all men who like to sing well and will commit to continuous improvement in personal performance during and outside rehearsals.
  • The perpetuation of singing, especially a cappella four-part close harmony, in our educational system and community.
  • The personal, physical, mental and spiritual benefits derived from the joy of fellowship, singing and performing with other men.
  • Continuous improvement in choral and small group performances as measured by audience reaction and competition scores and feedback.
  • Recognition by our Barbershop peers in Ontario as a chorus that sings and performs well and has fun doing it.
  • Being a not-for-profit organization that benefits people within and beyond our community through revenue derived from our public performances.
