Healthy Aging Café
The School of Nursing & Personal Support Work at Niagara College hosts the Healthy Aging Café each term as part of the International Gerontology Graduate Certificate Program. The Café is one of the many experiential learning opportunities within the Healthy Aging in the Community course, in which our international students are introduced to the concepts of health promotion for older adults and healthy aging within Canadian communities.
Be a part of this term’s café on October 18th, 2019 from 2:30pm to 5:30pm at the Welland Niagara College Campus. This event is a wonderful opportunity for cross-cultural and inter-generational learning and engagement. The Third Age Learning Niagara participants will be placed with a small group of international nurses (mostly from India and the Philippines) to share their experiences of aging in Canada. The students will prepare questions regarding healthy aging. It is a very informal and social event, complete with coffee, tea and a delicious International potluck courtesy of our students.
