Description

On Saturday, June 16th, 2018 we are hosting an event that has been missed very much by our community. The Hinton MudRun. This event will be more then just a Mud Run.

Come join us for a fun filled day of muddy obstacle challenges, trail run and other fun.

9.30 AM Pancake breakfast

10.30-12.30 PM Kids and Family friendly Mini Mud Run ( 10+ obstacles)

2-4PM Adult MudRun ( 20+ obstcales on a 2+ km course)

4.45 PM Yoga session

BBQ, Bouncy house, Face paint, Tatoos, Mascots, Bake sale, Raffle, Games & so much more throughout the day.

We plan to have other non profits working beside us to provide an eventful day for the entire family! All non-profit organizations that work with us that day will be making profits, so this event will be contributing to the entire community.

T-shirts are only guarenteed until May 29th.

Family pricing includes up to 4 people in total ( 3 children max)/

T-shirts are available for all children participating.

Adult/Youth race is for ages 12 and up.

Family & Child tickets are for the AM Mini Mud Run only.

Adult tickets are required for PM Adult/Youth Hinton MudRun.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need to be a mega super awesome athlete to participate in this event ?
HECK NO! There are plenty of other places you can test your endurance and speed! This is all about a dirty, muddy, fun day with friends and family. You can run, walk, crawl, or do somersaults if you wish!

Is this run timed?
This event will be timed for the adult runs. (12 and up) There will be a crowning ceremony afterwards to award the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place adult winners! Yay! Prizes!!!

Can I take photos or film at the event?
Give ‘er!! This is a great event to to make Kodak moments! You can post to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter and such. We welcome anyone to photograph or film at our event for PERSONAL use only. So please, come along, enjoy the event and take pictures. If you want to be super awesome, please use our hashtag #HINTONMUDRUN If you are having too much fun
to bother taking pix, don’t stress; we will have photographers bouncing around to catch the moments! Make sure your number is visible, because we are hoping to have pictures for sale after the event.

Where can I leave my gear?
There are no locker facilities at the Start/Finish line so we suggest you leave your valuables at home, with spectators, or in your car.

Will there be change rooms?
You bet! We plan on having a tent set up for changing purposes.

Can spectators attend?
Yep – Food and drinks are available all day, so spectators are free to come down and watch the fun, and then sorely regret not entering ;)

REGISTRATION
What is included with my entry fee?
Other than an amazing day of muddy fun with your friends and family, and other entertainment for the whole family, every child participant will get a t-shirt, (except when registering as a family, then only kids get the shirt, sorry, only so many t-shirts).... and some swag donated by businesses throughout Hinton and Edson. Your very welcome ;) Please note: T-shirts are only
guaranteed for participants who registered before May 29th. Families are considered up
to 4 people, with a max of 3 children. Additional members will need to register individually for an extra fee.

Is there an age limit for younger runners?
No, this event has been designed for the entire family, of course parental supervision for the young ones is an absolute must.

Am I able to receive a refund?
We will be giving refunds until May 16th, 2018. We are going to be really, REALLY busy after
that until a few days after the event.
THE COURSE

How far is it from start to finish?
We haven’t actually measured the course, because we are the casual type, but our best guess
is around 2.5 km. It begins in the green area next to the Hinton Curling Club, the course then runs up the hill to the adjacent trail system, down through the Hinton Campground, through the
Hinton Centre parking lot and then back onto the trail system, and then downhill back to the Curling Club. Get ready!

How many obstacles are there?
We have around 10 for the kiddos and 20 for the adults. Feel free to count as you run along ;)

Can I run with a jogging stroller and my kids?
No – this is an obstacle course. Grab a sitter and have some fun!

Can I bring my scooter or bike?
Unfortunately, due to safety reasons, the answer is no.

Can I run with my dog?
Sorry, not this time. We did plan on having a dog agility course after the run; however, we don’t see it in the cards this year..... Who knows, if all goes well, we may be re-writing this FAQ in a couple months to change this, but as for now, it’s a no.

Am I going to get dirty?
Yes. yes you’ll get dirty, if you take advantage of the muddy environment we have created just for you! Take usual precautions with scrapes and scratches to be totally safe, but other than that enjoy it! We suggest you wear clothing and shoes that you don’t mind staining, or scrubbing until clean, or even gear your happy to chuck away afterwards. And by ‘chuck away’
we mean take home with you, and throw out there.

What if an obstacle is too hard?
Something too hard?? No worries! Go around it, perform 10 burpees, and carry on. That’s right. BURPEES. (Insert maniacal laughter here)

Is water supplied?
Yes, we will have water stations throughout the run, and will have water available at the start/finish line.

Do you have “cleaning stations” at the finish line?
We will! We will have some sort of clean up, whether it be sprinklers, a fat fire hose thats hooked up to a fire hydrant, or a water truck. Something will be there :)

Can I create a team?
Hey if you and some pals want to dress up like drag queens and call yourselves a team, have at ‘er!! However, we are not registering teams the year.. This is our first year taking the MudRun on and didn’t want to overwhelm ourselves. Next year we are shooting for teams!

Is this run a Charity Event?
The Hinton MudRun is being brought to you by Hinton Helping Hands, all funds generated will be used to bring you more fun things to Hinton, and of course, any extra after that will be put towards our extra fabulous Christmas Eve Dinner @ the Hinton Centre 2018!! So remember!
Taking part in the MudRun is contributing to our great little community!

Is there first aid available?
We will have an EMT on hand that day.
