Hometown Heroes is a fundraising event in partnership between Hope Restored Canada and Soroptimist International of Saskatoon.

Soroptimist International of Saskatoon

Chartered in 1956, SI Saskatoon is located in the hub of the Saskatchewan wheat land and is a diverse group of vibrant business and professional women working together to better the lives of women and girls within their community and around the world. SI Saskatoon is a member of Soroptimist International, which works to transform the lives of women and girls worldwide. We are also represented at the UN and have consultative status there, where we are constantly raising women’s issues.

Since its inception, SI Saskatoon has been involved in many service projects starting with annual flower shows to raise funds, to most recently going back to its origins by partnering with local businesses and selling plants during the COVID pandemic. SI Saskatoon has worked to aid challenged children, inner-city children, street outreach programs, Girl Guides of Canada and the YWCA. It was the founding sponsor of Saskatoon Sexual Assault and Information Centre’s annual fashion show. Many other local projects have benefitted from Soroptimist support, including Hope Restored Saskatoon, which works towards helping women who are escaping sexual exploitation and trafficking find hope.

Hope Restored Canada

Hope Restored is an organization providing support to people who have been sexually exploited and trafficked. Based in Saskatoon, SK, we are a safe space for resources and support without judgment.

Hope Restored Canada’s (HRC) primary mandate is addressing the diverse recovery needs that sexually exploited and trafficked women, trans women, as well as Two-spirit individuals as they exit their lives of abuse. Since 2015, HRC has provided outreach support through a hotline and by volunteers, as well as educational opportunities for a variety of agencies.

Hope Restored works to provide our participants with safe housing, multi-faceted education, trauma-informed workshops, cultural education, and skill-building opportunities.
