We are pleased to welcome Dr. Paul Soper, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at the Glenrose ADHD Clinic and member of our board, for an informative talk about managing ADHD.

Parents and caregivers are welcome to attend this special event. Note that this replaces the Adult and Partner support group meetings this month.

Dr. Paul Soper is a child and adolescent psychiatrist who works at the Glenrose ADHD Clinic. This clinic specializes in the stabilization of complex, treatment resistant ADHD. Dr. Soper is also the consulting psychiatrist to the Glenrose Hospital 3 Week Assessment Classroom and to rural children’s mental health clinics in High Level and Peace River. Dr. Soper has been a member of the Canadian ADD Resource Alliance (CADDRA) since it’s inception and has served on its’ conference committee. He has been and continues to be involved in ADHD research and is an author of the Canadian Guidelines on Pharmacotherapy for Disruptive and Aggressive Behaviour in Children and Adolescents With Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, or Conduct Disorder. On top of this, Dr. Soper is a father of three children and the husband of a nurse. Though he can hardly skate, he loves hockey and is an assistant coach on one of his children’s hockey teams.

FAQs

Where exactly is this classroom?

This space can be tricky to find – but don’t give up! As you enter the Universtiy of Alberta hospital at street level from the 112 street (East) entrance, look to the left for a set of double doors and an escalator/staircase. If you enter from the 114th Street (West) entrance, walk through the hospital all the way towards the 112 Street entrance and look to your right for the double doors and escalator/stairs.

Take the escalator/stairs to the second floor. There is also an elevator to the right of the stairwell off the main hallway .Turn to your left and make a U-turn, proceeding along the hall (following the crosswalk style lines on the floor), across a small walkway that looks over the entrance below; this brings you into the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry space. Classroom D is on your left, across from the washrooms.

Signage with the ADHD Association of Greater Edmonton logo will be placed to help you find your way.
