About this event
The year 2022 marks the 11th Edition of the International Summer Course on the Rights of the Child organized by the Université de Moncton's Continuing Education in collaboration with the Office of the Child and Youth Advocate.
Each year since 2012, the Summer Course has been able to adapt and reinvent itself to offer, even in times of pandemic, the opportunity for professionals in various fields of children's rights from across Canada and the world to come together and share their expertise and research topics. These professionals also take advantage of the course to discuss solutions and best practices to better implement the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC).
Over the past 10 years, we have been honoured to welcome distinguished speakers such as Claire Brisset, Najat Maalla M'jid, Jean Zermatten, Landon Pearson, Benoit Vankeirsbilck, Philip Jaffé, Rama Diouf, Tara Collins, Mona Paré, Gerison Lansdown, Theresa Casey and Jean-Bernard Marie to the Summer Course.
For the past 11 years, the faithful participants of the Summer Course have had the opportunity to discuss in depth 11 articles of the CRC. As a meeting place for experts in children's rights in Canada and in the Francophonie, the Summer Course has always given a large place to the voice of children and youth.
