About this event

This learning circle will meet in-person at North York Central Library, every Thursday morning, 10-11:30 AM, from April 18-May 23, 2024 (six sessions).

Participants will learn together in a peer-supported environment through a learning circle, a lightly facilitated study group guided by library staff for people who want to take a free online course together in a welcoming space. Participants are expected to commit to the duration of the course and attend all learning circle sessions.

In this 6-week course, learners will explore ways to be safe online. This course introduces basic concepts in cybersecurity, including how to identify different types of attacks and vulnerabilities; how to safeguard one's devices, networks and data; and potential career paths for those who are interested in learning more. Learners who complete the course will earn a digital badge.
