English Country Dance began as a combination of formal court dance and folk dance circa 1600. It travelled from England to continental Europe and even to North America in colonial times. The dance form was revived in the early 1900s and new dances are written to this day. This sampler will teach a few basic steps and include a variety of approachable dances to give you an idea of how ECD works.

No partner required. No lead or follow roles. Wear flat, soft-soled shoes and comfortable clothes.

Mask optional. Scent free.

Registration mandatory by e-mail to info@tecda.ca.
