Over the course of 2022, we’ve had many insightful conversations around park experiences with different community groups, organizations, and members. You can find out what some of what we learned here.
In these conversations, community asked us: What is the city willing to change? What is actually on the table that can be changed?
We went through all the comments and suggestions and identified what Parks and Cemetery has control or influence over and where other departments within the City, Council, Region, and/or Province have control or influence over.
We noticed many things were in fact possible! Some things we can do and implement through the Places and Spaces strategy directly, while other things need to be done together with other city departments and/or Council directive.
Now, we'd like to:
- Share back what we learned and discuss what's possible
- Identify what's missing or needs to be adjusted
- Learn better ways to share information with residents on options and opportunities available for decision-making around Parks
- Provide an update on Places and Spaces
