About this event

  • 1 hour 30 minutes

We will be hosting this event outdoor! This is a community gathering where all abilities are welcome. The concept is simple: bring anything you have made with your hands or a voucher for a service you can offer, and trade for treasures from others. There is no money exchanged and PERFECTION IS NOT REQUIRED! We celebrate you for showing up and appreciate your willingness to share your talents and passion projects with others in the community.

Here are a few insights for those new to the Makers Swaps:

a) Everyone is welcome and please feel free to bring a friend.

b) Each participant brings what they feel comfortable giving to the community – there are no expectations or limitations – our definition of fairness is that each person will share within their means and that has always resulted in amazing generosity.

c) All items brought will go on a common table together. After spending time getting to know each other, we will take turns going up to take items from the table, one item at a time, until each person decides they have taken enough.

Some popular homemade items (to get your creative juices flowing): preserves, jam, fresh eggs, soaps, plants, meals and snacks, homegrown fruit and vegetables, jewelry, leather crafts, wooden carvings, dog toys and treats, paintings and knitted items, welded hooks, baked goods, etc. There seems to be no limit to what could be swapped!

For this Community Maker Swap, we will be sitting in the host backyard. Please bring a chair if you can. Note that a very friendly dog lives here.
