Course Overview

Drainage of the upper body, upper/lower limbs, trunk and abdomen when lymphnode chains are either intact or defective. For the complex regional painsyndrome and fibrosis as well.

Who should attend?

The K-Taping Lymphatics course is directed towards lymphatic therapists and therapists / physicians who work in the lymphatic therapy field.

Basic Principles of Lymphatic Correction Techniques

Lymphatic Correction techniques are used when lymph flow is disrupted. They lift the skin up, increasing the amount of space between the skin and the subcutaneous tissue and, in turn, stimulating the collectors to resume their activity. The collectors are the active transport vessel systems in the human body. Valves are located within this transport system to prevent lymphatic fluid from flowing back and to guarantee central drainage. The area between two valves is labelled a lymphangion.Contraction of this area transports the lymph further along the collector for drainage.
Furthermore, the skin and underlying tissue is stretched by the lifting effect of the tape and bodily movement. This can result in fibrotic bridges being loosened and/or prevented.
