The role of the Northwest Training and Adjustment Board is to engage their communities and community partners in a local labour market research and planning process that leads to cooperative efforts among partners to find local solutions to local issues.

The Community Consultation is the forum where community partners meet to develop a plan of action to be implemented by the community the following year. The goal of this plan of action is to meet the changing labour market needs of the communities, within the Kenora and Rainy River Districts.

The results of these consultations will reflect common goals, objectives and priorities for strengthening the local labour market in the Kenora & Rainy River Districts.

The Northwest Training and Adjustment Board is a community directed, non-profit corporation leading the Kenora and Rainy River Districts in their approach to workforce development and labour market planning.

The Northwest Training and Adjustment Board functions as a neutral broker of research, disseminator of information and facilitator of collaborative partnership development. Operating as part of the Local Boards Network of Ontario, it is one of 26 local planning board areas funded by the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Development to conduct and distribute local labour market research and engage community stakeholders in a planning process that supports local solutions to local issues. NTAB’s mandate is to provide guidance regarding important workforce and employment challenges facing the Kenora and Rainy River Districts.
