Description

Indigenous Land-Based STEAM Educational and Career Pathways Program

Join us for a one-day workshop to learn more about the 'Kikandaaswiwin Mookiisin' program. We will explore Indigenous worldviews of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), offer hands on strategies and curriculum, and explore new and emerging technologies to help educators and others to respond and support, Indigenous Learners.

In celebrating our rich histories and modern technologies of STEAM, 'Kikandaaswiwin Mookiisin' is grounded in experiential and land-based learning, ensuring it is relatable and inspiring to the fastest growing and younger populations in Canada - Indigenous children and youth. 'Kikandaaswiwin Mookiisin' is deeply rooted in Indigenous and cultural practices ad values, and it is a STEAM program geared to engaging and nurturing Indigenous learners to achieve their full potential and fulfill their critical role in the world.

Canadore College First Peoples' Centre is a network member of Actua who is Canada's largest STEM outreach organization, which includes serving Indigenous Youth across Canada.
