About this event

Knowledge Sharing Session with Business Sweden’s Delegation to Toronto, Industrial Construction Tour

Join us for breakfast and a roundtable discussion with the Swedish Delegation to Toronto, key Canadian stakeholders, and Assembly Corp on critical themes in the Canadian and Swedish prefabricated construction sectors. Sweden is widely recognized as the global leader in prefabricated construction. In Canada, there is emerging recognition that modular construction is critical to building more homes faster. We look forward to an open discussion to identify market synergies and opportunities for Swedish expertise.

The event will be held at Assembly's office, 123 Front St W, Suite 300, so mark your calendars and don't miss out on this valuable learning experience!

Assembly is creating a multi-disciplinary program that leverages our employee and partner expertise and our own lessons-learnt to share with media and industry. We recognize the need to give space for feedback and input of those with lived experiences and those with “boots on the ground.”

Redefining practice within an industry is difficult - it requires adaptations to ways of thinking and doing across sectors. Assembly recognizes that the success of panelized wood modular housing in the Canadian market is dependent on not only our capacity to deliver and adapt, but also our competitors. Continuing to prove the feasibility of prefabricated panelized timber construction to the Canadian market is critical to our future - we share in the success and failures of our competitors.

We believe that transparency of our wins, mistakes and subsequent innovations have the capacity to move the industry forward - and improve our wider ability to address Canada’s housing crisis. We will share our learnings, experience and expertise through the scaling of our parametric design capabilities and manufacturing program to the broader construction industry.

By opening the dialogue within our industry, we will allow opportunities for collaboration, and amplify our voice by offering concrete examples, while increasing our ability to find new solutions and like minded partners. This strategy is fundamental to Assembly - we learn by doing, but believe that assembling knowledge is equally crucial for successful innovation.
