About the program:
Lady of the Lake is a program featuring two song cycles based on Sir Walter Scott's epic poem, including a new composition by Nova Scotia composer Fiona Ryan. A historical epic of love, loss, war, loyalty, and betrayal in the Highlands of 16th-century Scotland, the song cycle draws influence from folk music traditions and rhythmic patterns of Nova Scotia and Scotland. Featuring Maureen Batt, soprano; Jon-Paul Décosse, bass-baritone; Simon Docking, piano.

About the album:
Maureen Batt, soprano, has released her first album: Lady of the Lake. Lady of the Lake dropped this June on Halifax-based classical music label, Leaf Music (owner Jeremy VanSlyke). The album features Maureen Batt (soprano), Jon-Paul Décosse (bass-baritone), and Simon Docking (piano). It includes two song cycles based on the epic poem by Sir Walter Scott - Schubert's Op. 52, including the famous "Ave Maria" and a new song cycle by Fiona Ryan.
