From October 23rd to October 25th, 2014, Concordia University will be hosting the Leaders in Conservation: Botanic Gardens and Biodiversity in the 21st Century conference at the prestigious Loyola Sustainability Research Centre. The first day of the conference will take place at Concordia’s downtown SGW campus. Day 2 of the conference will be held at the Montréal Space for Life’s Botanical Garden. Day 3 of the conference will be hosted at Concordia’s Loyola Campus.
Bringing together local and international scholars, experts and leaders in the field of botanic garden biodiversity conservation, this will be the first international scholarly event on botanic gardens, eco-citizenry and socio-environmental governance. Organized with the endorsement of the UN Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD), Botanic Gardens Conservation International (BCGI), the Montréal Space for Life’s Botanical Garden, and the Quebec Centre for Biodiversity Science (QCBS), we invite you to join this important initiative, benefit from a unique opportunity to exchange ideas in cutting-edge research, and develop critical networks and partnerships.
