BIOs:

Joe Timlin

Joe spent 20 years in Venture Capital first with BDC and then with GrowthWorks. His focus was primarily software, but he has invested in hardware, cleantech and served on dozens of Boards. He joined CIBC 4 years ago as the bank was starting to build a team devoted to technology lending. He won a VC deal of the year award in 2015 for Layer 7, and led investments at Bycast, Teradici, Make, Genologics among many others. He has coached more than 30 soccer and field hockey teams, and, having played neither of them much himself, may have set girls sports on the north shore back a generation.

Phil Dubois

Since launching his first tech company in the early 1970s, Phil has navigated through seven recessions, starting with the 1973-1975 one. He has an enviable record of launching new products during each of them, giving him the sense of being a fairly predictable bellwether of economic downturns. Phil managed to survive each. He looks forward to sharing the experiences he does recall in the current century.

Ralph Turfus

Ralph Turfus has spent over four decades in the Technology Industry.  He founded Escom Software in 1976 and served as its Chief Executive Officer for 28 years. During that time he founded and was CEO of eight companies and sold five, the last one being Class Software in 2004, purchased by The Active Network.

Ralph’s passion is developing the marketing and sales capabilities of entrepreneurial technologists. He is a hands-on angel investor having made direct investments into twenty two technology companies as well seven Venture Capital technology funds. Ralph has been a member of over ten Company Board of Directors and the Chairman of seven. He is active in organizations that promote the region’s technology industry.  For over ten years he sat on the Premier’s Technology Council, whose mandate was to advise the Premier of British Columbia on technology matters pertaining to government and industry. In 2008 he founded and created the AceTech Growth Strategy Program (GSP) to accelerate the development of technology CEO capabilities through courses and mentoring. The GSP continues as a core training program today.

Shannon Byrne Susko

Shannon is the creator of the 3HAG (3-year Highly Achievable Goals system) and lead trainer of Certification. Shannon has over 20+ years experience building and leading high-growth technology companies in the financial services industry.  She is co-founded, served as CEO, and led the sale of the two companies less than six years apart: Subserveo, Inc (Founded in 2008 * Sold 2011) and Paradata Systems Inc. (Founded in 1995 * Sold in 2006).

Shannon is an expert in strategy and execution.  She is well known for her ability to lead and execute with her team in implementing a repeatable Strategic Execution System. Shannon now coaches CEOs and leadership teams from around the world who want the keep their companies on the path to growth and predictable profit. 

Shannon founded Metronome United, her CEO coaching and worldwide speaking business, in June 2011. She is also the co-founder of Metronome Growth Systems (Jan 2016) which is a cloud-based business platform for best practice high growth businesses, their CEOs, leaders and Business Coaches. 

Vivek Thomas

Vivek is an experienced CEO-Coach having successfully lead teams to deliver consistent revenue growth and bottom line profit at Maximizer Software Inc, Goldmine, Crystal Decisions and Sony Corporation.

He credits his success to Strategic Execution, which is defined as a set of behaviours and techniques that needs to be mastered in order to maintain a competitive advantage. He also brings to his clients a CEO’s perspective on implementing frameworks like One Page Strategic Plan, Rockefeller Habits, GGOB (Great Game of Business) and 3HAG that drive predictable results.
