Frequently asked questions

Does this trip involve a great deal of walking?

No. On this trip, be prepared to get on and off the bus, and walk around a few facilities. There is also a short hike (five minutes), down to the Greenock Swamp viewing platform (optional).

How should I dress for this trip?

Good question. We advise that you dress for the weather and wear comfortable footwear. No open toes shoes please.

How many people do you allow on a tour?

We have room for 34 people per tour.

Does the bus have a washroom?

No, the bus does not have a washroom, so we make sure there are plenty of washroom stops along the way.

Who is the Cargill and Greenock Swamp Promotional Association?

We are a group of volunteers with different talents and from varying backgrounds who have a keen interest in 'keeping history alive' in Cargill (once known as the logging capital of Bruce Co.), and fostering awareness about the Greenock Swamp, Southern Ontario's single largest forested wetland.
