Description of training

As the world fights climate change, the construction industry must play a greater role than ever in the effort to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In concrete terms, each new building must demonstrate, with supporting figures, that it will produce fewer GHG emissions than a conventionally constructed building. The purpose of the training is to give building designers (architects, engineers, technologists, etc.) a better understanding of how the life cycle analysis (LCA) method is applied to buildings and remains a key tool in measuring GHG emissions and other pollutants from buildings designed. In addition, this training aims to show participants how to use LCAs as part of the LEED v4.1 Building Life-Cycle Impact Reduction credit and how to communicate the environmental impact of their design choices.

Funded by the Codes Acceleration Fund for the province, New Brunswickers can register for free.
