— Lettering Workshop
with Calgary-based Designer & Letterer Nina Milloy
Tittles!? Ascenders!? Bowls?! What do these mean and how does it relate to the craft of hand lettering? In this 4-hour workshop, you will learn to create a finished lettering piece utilizing typography, composition and a few tips and tricks on building your hand lettering skills.
What You Will Learn

A breakdown of how to sketch a lettering piece from start to finish using a small quote, name or word.

How to sketch out compositions to ensure your lettering piece reads well and looks great.

A basic knowledge of typography and how to build upon letters to create a unique and legible style.
Target Audience
Whether you are brand new to lettering, or have a basic idea of what it is but don’t know where to start, this workshop is for you.
What You Need To Bring

A sketchbook (The bigger the better, but anything works).

A few pens, pencil, eraser and any tool you use would like to use to create work.

A quote (3-5 words long) or word you would like to letter.
