Markham Cycling Day 2024

RULES & LIABILITIES

A friendly reminder that participants agree to participate at their own risk and are requested to sign the waiver before riding. Participants are photographed for promotional purposes. Riders must operate their bike in a safe and predictable manner at all times. Electronic listening devices are not be worn, nor are phones to be used while riding. Bring water and wear sunscreen. Do pay attention to the Ride Leader, obey the rules of the road and have fun!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Each participant must bring their own bicycle in good working order with a functioning bell/horn. Bike Rental is not available. Participants under 18 must wear a properly fitted bicycle helmet.

The Waiver must be read and agreed to online when registering unless you are under 18 years old. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OLD - you must have a guardian complete this waiver upon online registration for the event.

TOUR DE MARKHAM

Registration Information:

Tour de Markham allows you to choose from a 15 km, 30 km, and 60 km route. You may select ONE (1) tour per rider. A parent/guardian must register riders who are younger than 10 years of age. If you are registering for more than one rider, you must complete the required information for each rider.

15KM Route - Rest stop at Milne Dam Park

30KM Route - Rest stop at Milne Dam Park and Berczy Park

60KM Route - Rest stop at Berczy Park

CHILDREN’S BIKE RACES

Registration Information:

These bike races are for children from ages 3-10 years. A parent/guardian must register riders . If you are registering for more than one rider, you must complete the required information for each rider.

Markham Cycling Day is York Region’s largest FREE public cycling event. The event offers a safe, fun and educational experience that engages the community and enables participants to develop or enhance their passion for cycling.

This year, we are back at Markham Centre, 10 Aviva Way (Birchmount Road & Enterprise Boulevard).

The event will include:

• The Children's Bike Races are crowd favourite each and every year! Children and youth ages 3-10 engage in a friendly race to win a "gold", "silver", "bronze" medal, or ribbon. Taking place at the Markham Centre, young racers will ride in a safe and closed-off area.
• The Tour de Markham, comprising of 15km, 30km, and 63 km group rides across the City taking participants on different cycling infrastructure and interesting landmarks along the way.

This event is opened to the community. It includes entertainment, snacks, cycling information and so much more!
