About this Event

Grab a beverage, join a conversation and chat with the speakers who presented at GlycoNet/ACS Joint Webinar Series. Ask them anything from science-related questions to career-oriented advices!

If you missed their webinars, do not worry — selective presentations will be available on our YouTube Channel (links will be posted when available).

Who you are meeting:

Dr. Mingdi Yan

Professor, University of Massachusetts Lowell

Mingdi Yan is a Chemistry Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. Her current research includes perfluoroaryl azide-based conjugation chemistry, glyconanomaterials and gold antimicrobials. She obtained a B.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon.

Dr. Jessica Kramer

Assistant Professor, University of Utah

Prof. Jessica Kramer obtained her Honors B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Utah and her Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from UCLA under the direction of Prof. Tim Deming. She then completed NIH NRSA postdoctoral studies at Stanford and UC Berkeley as a UC Chancellor’s Postdoctoral Fellow in the lab of Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi. Dr. Kramer also spent several years in industry with Echelon Biosciences. Dr. Kramer began her independent career at the University of Utah in the Department of Biomedical Engineering in 2017. She is the recipient of the Dream Chemistry Award, NSF CAREER award, and an NSF RAPID. Her lab utilizes a combination of polymer chemistry, protein engineering, and bioconjugation techniques to design new bioinspired materials and to probe fundamental questions in glycobiology while addressing human health needs.
