About this event

In honor of Mental Health Week 2024, CMHA Hamilton is pleased to announce that we are hosting several community training opportunities’ in Spring 2024 including safeTALK, ASIST and MHFA. These opportunities were brought forth under our Roots of Hope suicide prevention project, which is a collaboration between CMHA Hamilton and the Suicide Prevention Community Council of Hamilton (SPCCH). As such, all trainings will be delivered by CMHA Hamilton and offered at-cost due to a generous donation from the SPCCH.

Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) – In Person

"LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations. At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, you'll learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide you through the course, ensuring your comfort and safety." (Living Works, 2023)

Monday, June 24th 2024 (8:30 AM -4:00 PM) and Tuesday, June 25th 2024 (8:30AM - 4:00 PM) – Please note that this is a certificate based training which means you much be fully present for the ensure duration of the training (both days). No exceptions will be made.
