About this event

  • 2 hours

This course is available any time to students at BVC with an ongoing registration until December 2024.

According to the National Institute of Mental Health, mental health concerns often first appear between the ages of 18 and 25.

Knowing that it’s our goal to provide a wide range of suicide prevention and mental health resources at Bow Valley College. This year, we're proud to offer MindWise on Campus, an online 30-minute suicide prevention training that uses video and interactive learning to teach students how to ACT (Acknowledge, Care, Tell) if they're worried about themselves or a friend.

Students Will Learn:

How to recognize signs of suicide risk in themselves or a friend

How to have a difficult conversation that encourages someone to seek help

How to build strong peer connections that foster positive mental well-being

An overview of available student mental health resources, on and off-campus

Registration is ongoing, once you have a ticket through Eventbrite it will send you an email with instructions on how to access the training.
