Impulse Theatre presents

molecular landscapes: a film

On Demand

October 14 to 24, 2021 / By Donation

Impulse Theatre presents a soft and joyful work of outdoor dance theatre on film. molecular landscapes is a process-based project that was performed at multiple outdoors sites across lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories. This year’s process was captured on film and crafted into this short dance film.

The team, spurred by curiosities, have collaboratively crafted material informed by research into local fauna and flora, our molecular ancestors, soft sculptures, local histories, the body in nature, and much more. The project asks us to carry our bodies back into ecosystems that created us. It is a love story about the joy and magic of nature. It is a reminder of where we came from, and where we pour our attention.

The team captured this material at Witty’s Lagoon Provincial Park and on Salt Spring Island.
