Join us at the Brackendale Art Gallery for the free opening reception and seminar of More Than The Mark, The Choreographies and Generosities of Young Children's Drawing. This exhibition makes visible very young children’s drawing as an interactive event of sounds, rhythms, movements, materials, gestures, marks, generosities, hospitalities, synchronicities, and relationalities. It situates drawing as inherently relational and composed together with others as if the act of drawing is about us rather than a self-centred. This shifts the perceived foundations of drawing and what we think might matter, and opens spaces to consider how the drawing event is much more than the child’s representational intent and the marks made.
6 pm - 7 pm: Reception
7 pm - 8:30 pm: Seminar with Syliva Kind and colleagues.
This exhibition is made possible by the participation of the Centre for Research and Childhood Studies at Capilano University.
This event is free, as is access to this exhibtion during operational hours.
