Music Jam Workshop

Music Jam Workshop

Overview

Come to this workshop to learn and practice tips to confidently participating in jam sessions!

This Intermediate level workshop explores the concept of "play" as a radical act of social and musical connection. Participants will move beyond basic scales to focus on the intuitive language of the jam—learning how to listen deeply, leave space, and welcome newcomers into a musical conversation. By treating improvisation like a favorite childhood game, we will strip away performance anxiety and replace it with the effortless joy of shared creation. This session is designed for those comfortable with their instruments who are ready to master the "unwritten rules" of collaborative spontaneity.

Workshops are recommended for people ages 12 and over. Children under 12 years old are welcome with parent/guardian supervision. Please get a ticket for each person (incl. all children).

The workshop is pay what you can! Suggested $20 - $30 to support facilitator fees and supplies.

If you have any questions, please email us: info@alcoveartscentre.ca
