“My Story” is a free writing support group that meets bi-weekly in Cooksville, Mississauga. This group is a safe space where we learn from each other and tell our stories and journeys, of courage, love, sadness and more.
Group members / attendees will learn how to find “the story” within themselves and how to share it with others in the most impactful way. There is no strict structure in these workshops, rather you will find these sessions to be lively events where we discuss writing tools, practice our writing activities and share our writings with the group.
There is no need to commit to come to every session. You are free to drop in when it’s convenient or to dive in fully and make ‘My Story’ a part of your routine and schedule.
No writing experience is needed to attend. We believe that there is a writer within each of us, and we just need some guidance to start writing. Our group lead Kateryna Zmytrovych will provide support.
About the group lead:
Kateryna has two years of experience as a copywriter, writing for advertising, marketing and personal branding purposes. Writing is her passion and she believes it is one of the best ways to express her feelings and stay grounded. Since arriving to Canada, Kateryna feels a strong urge to share her gifts with the community, and the opportunity to open “the story” within somebody else is inspiring for her. Thus “My Story” was born.
What to bring:
Bring your favourite writing tools (pen, paper, laptop, phone, etc.), and a willingness to share and learn with others.
All are welcome, even if you have not attended previous sessions or cohorts of this project.
