This seminar will cover how to incorporate and comply with legislation, how to apply for charitable status and will provide an overview of the different legal obligations for charities and non-profits.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to assess their readiness for incorporation and what the benefits of incorporation are.
  • The difference between a charity and non-profit.
  • About Federal vs. Provincial legal contexts and legislation
  • About the Ontarion Non-Profit Corporations Act
  • About Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws
  • Implications and responsibilities of holding charitable status.
