The fourth annual celebration of photography in northwestern British Columbia features an exhibition hosted by the Kitimat Museum & Archives, sessions by local and guest photographers and photo walks including Minette Bay Lodge and prime Kitimat birding spots. North West Photo Fest Festival weekend begins on August 9, 2018, 7 pm, with the opening of the photography exhibition "The Wilderness Around Us" at the Kitimat Museum & Archives. You will also see the best of Canadian photojournalism 2017, courtesy of the News Photographers Association of Canada. This event is free to the public.

The festival workshops and photo walks will take place around the Kitimat region on Saturday, August 11. There will be a congruent beginners class with Ab Morrison-Hayward at the Kitimat Public Library on Saturday. Here are the details.

Seminars, workshops and talks will take place at Riverlodge Recreation Centre in the Activity Room from 9 am to 5 pm on Sunday August 12.

You can either buy a ticket for both days $25 for adults, $10 for students or for either the Saturday or Sunday at $15 for adults and $7.50 for students.
