Description

Join this session as we celebrate Canada Career Month.

Everyone likes to be happy. However, often people struggle on how to get there. This session will investigate not only various sources of happiness from different parts of the world, but also how to fit them into our very busy schedules. In addition, this session will explore how to infuse those happiness strategies into our jobs at McMaster, and how to coach others in the workplace on how to be happy. Attendees, whether an individual contributor or people manager, will learn to look at the concept of “Work-Life Balance” with a new lens, establishing techniques on how to make our own happiness balance a priority within the workplace. We will breakdown the different parts of the employment lifecycle (recruitment/onboarding, goal setting, teamwork, and retirement) and discuss how to embed happiness strategies to motivate yourself and your team at each stage of your career at McMaster. Participants are encouraged to reflect on what truly makes you happy and be prepared to discuss how you achieve the level of happiness while you are at work and at home.
