Explore the delicate world of watercolors and watercolor pencils while painting outside the lines to create atmospheric, abstract and interpretive flowers. Spend time observing nature and transcribe your feeling into brush strokes as you make marks and add water. This Class is meant to help develop your creative ideas in a playful and imaginative way.
Includes hands-on demonstration to encourage people to have familiarity with tools and color mixing.
Class Structure:
- 5 mins; get water, settle into the space.
- 20 - 30 mins warm up
- 50 – 60 mins: painting flowers in a loose, atmospheric style.
- Clean-up
Total time:1.5 hours
Students should bring: ALL Supplies:
- Watercolor paint: including permanent rose, cadmium yellow, sap green, crimson red, violet, ultramarine blue, paynes grey, burnt umber, yellow ochre or nickel azo gold would be nice if you have (optional).
- Watercolor pencils
- Paper towels
- Paint brushes (one small, medium + larger size)
- Water container
- Watercolor paper 9 x 12
- Paint trays
- Painting boards (two would be good)
- Masking tape (I use green painters tape found in the dollar store)
- Spray bottle
- Saran wrap (1 foot)
- Small make-up sponge (optional)
- Fineliners (optional)
- Apron (optional)
- Flower from your garden (optional) or we can paint from a reference photo (supplied)
