Event description

Description

Description: Do you know the native wildflowers of summer? Learn what flowers are blooming at Newport Forest with Will Van Hemessen, botanist and ecologist, as we hike through this unique Carolinian floodplain forest. Biting insects and ticks are possible and participants should take appropriate precautions.

*Please not that this property is not open to the public outside of this event.

How to get there:

From London (approx 55 mins) follow Longwoods Road/County Road 2 west to Wardsville. Turn left (south) onto Hagerty Road/County Road 1 and cross the Thames River. Turn right onto Beattie Line and when the road curves left, turn right onto Fleming Line in West Elgin. Continue for 1km to the open gate on your right. Carpooling is encouraged.
