Playground Benefit Soiree

Come join us for a night of fun and fundraising at the Cattail Crossing Golf Club! Our Playground Benefit Soiree will feature music, delicious food, brief comedian entertainment , a cool photobooth and exciting auctions. All proceeds from this event will go towards building a new playground for our community. So, grab your friends and family, and let's come together to make a difference while having a great time!

Buffet Meal Details:

Main Dish MEAT Option:

  • Chicken - Roasted with a Hunter Sauce
  • Early Bird Pricing: $60 pp
  • General Admission after April 21 Pricing: $65 pp

Main Dish VEGETARIAN Option:

  • Stuffed Portobello Mushroom (Additional cost, must be pre-purchased as a Vegetarian Buffet event ticket.)
  • Early Bird Pricing: $75 pp
  • General Admission after April 21 Pricing: $80 pp

Note: Your ticket includes the cost of your meal and also the event entertainment and experience. All tickets purchased on Eventbrite will be subject to tax and processing fees.

  • Light dessert options to be served sometime after dinner

Frequently asked questions

How can I pay for my silent auction items?

Cash or E-transfer only. Soraya Hafez Playground Committee does not own a Debit/Credit machine. However, there is an ATM machine in the front lobby of Cattail Crossing, near the Out of Bounds restaurant.

Will there be tickets available for purchase at the door?

NO. All event tickets must be pre-purchased by Friday May 10th, by midnight. We must know exactly how many guest to expect for dinner by the end of day on May 10th.

Can I buy Early Bird Tickets?

Early Bird Tickets are $60 per person. There is a limited quantity of 50 tickets available at this price but only up to midnight on Sunday April 21st. If you missed this purchase window, the price per person will be $65 each.

What will the event seating be like?

The banquet facilities at Cattail Crossing include large round tables. There will be approximately 8 persons seated at each table.

What is the age requirements for this event?

The Playground Benefit Soiree is an adult only event. Participants must be 18 years of age and older.

Will there be non-alcoholic & alcoholic drinks available?

Free water and fountain pop will be available. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the event bar.

Do silent auction winners need to be present when the auction item closes?

No, as long as a valid cell phone contact # is left on the bid sheet, you will be contacted if your bid won and will be expected to pay immediately by e-transfer or return to the venue to pay by cash.

Can I donate a Silent Auction item for this event?

Yes. Please contact us at shcplayground@gmail.com or message us on our Facebook or Instagram accounts through "Soraya Hafez Community Playground". We ask that all silent auction items be collected or delivered to us by April 30th but will accept donations right up to the event on May 25th.

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to building an inclusive playground next to Soraya Hafez School, located in the northeast Edmonton neighbourhood of McConachie.

Our project has been awarded some grants and we have raised over $107,000+ through community fundraisers and donations.

However, we still have a long way to go to reach the total funds needed to build a community park for everyone to enjoy.
