Series of 5 workshops: $35

Artists' Health Alliance presents Creating Artists' Health, a series of creative workshops with notable artists focused on issues of artists' health and wellbeing. As part of this series, award winning artist and poet Timaj Garad will lead a 5-week series of workshops at the Aga Khan Museum on Saturdays, 2-4 pm from March 9-April 6, 2019. The Poetic Heartwork series cultivates well-being by deepening creative writing and wellness practices anchored in self-love; including body, mind, emotional, and spiritual domains, and strengthening our capacity towards radical self and community care. Participants in this program are invited to a deeper exploration of how poetry can inform and enhance their own well-being. The final session will focus on strengthening participants’ capacity towards radical self and community care and engage participants in a collaborative process of extending self-love to create thriving, resilient communities. This series is open to 15 artists of all disciplines and will focus on the following themes:

Week 1 – March 9 : Poetic Body Wisdom

Week 2 – March 16 : Teaching the Mind what the Heart knows

Week 3 – March 23 : The Balance of Letting go and Letting in

Week 4 – March 30 : Finding Purpose in the Poetic

Week 5 – April 6 : Heart to Heartwork: Re-imagining Community
