Event description
If you hold monthly or up to annual events, this seminar is a must-attend.

About this Event

After working with a team of volunteers for eight years publicizing Toys, Toiletries & Toques charitable event every holiday season, I have learned some of the ins and outs and now changes about promoting an Event in the Cowichan Valley.

Additionally, I have held several training and workshop 'events' available to the public and have learned what works and what doesn't.

In 2019 I have had the opportunity to manage the social media marketing and promoting for Cobble Hill Seedy Saturday, the 39 Days of July, the Cobble Hill Fair, the 40th Day of July and the Cowichan Exhibition. I have thoroughly learned that ways to promote Events have improved and changed over the last couple of years.

I would like to share what I have learned with you.

As many of you know who have attended the many public seminars and workshops over the 10 years that Social Media is Not Simple has been operating, the sessions are always 'roll up your sleeves and learn'. This session is for individuals who are either Administrators on a Facebook Fan Page, a Facebook Group of any type, or someone who is managing an Instagram Business Account. The session will not be helpful for a beginner to utilizing a social media network for business.

Here is a draft of what the session will include:

  • What is an Event and what is a reoccurring event and why does it matter.
  • How to use Facebook's Event feature to best advantage and how to complete it correctly
  • The value of an image in Events
  • Where to post Events and how. (perhaps one of the most valuable elements in this seminar)
  • What offline marketing methods should collaborate with promoting Events on social media
  • How valuable is the Interested and Coming feature?
  • How to time when to start promoting, how to start, how close to time as the Event draws near, what to do during the actual event
  • Tips on promotion marketing depending on the size and type of event

As always, after 10 years, I have a unique Cowichan perspective on what type of Event promotion works in this very amazing and wonderful and event/festival driven community. I started out promoting the then Cowichan Wine and Culinary Festival. It's world's apart since then!

If you company or organization or non-profit hold Events annually or every month, this session is for you.

I want to make it easy to pay for this seminar in advance to secure your seat. If you have a PayPal account, it's easy. Even if you don't have a PayPal account, you can choose PayPal and then choose whatever credit card you'd like to use. You can e-transfer to Bjork Enterprises (parent company of Social Media is Not Simple) using me@brendaburch.ca or you can snail mail Social Media is Not Simple at 4605 Koksilah Road, Duncan, BC V9L 6N6. I'll need to receive your cheque, payable to Bjork Enterprises before the seminar date.

A portion of the proceeds from this seminar will be donated to Toys, Toques & Toiletries to assist in their collection of new, non-food items to be distributed through the five Food Banks in the Cowichan Valley to make those who need a hand through the holiday season.
