Day 1 (April 29) will be directed towards the public, where an overview of 6-PPDQ and current, local and regional research initiatives will be discussed. We have leading 6-PPDQ research scientists, Ed Kolodziej (University of Washington) and Markus Brinkmann (University of Saskatchewan), lined up to provide an overview of the discovery of 6-PPDQ's impacts and tire wear toxin research on both sides of the border. The first day is intended to be of general interest and an opportunity for all interested parties to meet, share, and discuss project and outcomes to date.

Day 2 (April 30) will have a more technical focus, where researchers will discuss early results and identify current challenges and opportunities. There will be presentations and panel discussions prepared by multiple research organizations, including Vancouver Island University's Applied Environmental Research Lab, the University of British Columbia's Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and more.

The event will run from 9am until about 4:30pm each day and be hosted at Vancouver Island University. Room location and parking information will be sent prior to the event if you are signed up via EventBrite.

The event is free to attend. We ask that you RSVP to ensure that we can ensure enough catering and refreshments are ordered to accommodate those that are attending.
