Recruitment & Selection Essentials: Hiring the Best People for the Job
2 Parts - May 18th, 1:00pm to 3:00pm & May 20th, 1:00pm to 3:30pm

Recruiting and selecting team members with the right skills and attributes is one of the most critical responsibilities of a leader. This interactive session will equip leaders who are responsible for the hiring process with a foundational understanding of best practices in recruitment & selection. Leaders will learn how to define hiring criteria, source talent, develop assessment tools, and increase their ability to successfully hire the best candidate. In addition, we will look at ways to reduce bias in the hiring process. The session is intended for new leaders, or more experienced leaders who are looking for a refresher.
Expectations of Participants:
- Homework (after Part 1) – 1 hour video

- Gain confidence leading a recruitment and selection process in SFU’s context
- Represent the University as a top employer and apply knowledge of SFU’s total compensation package to attract strong candidates
