Cosburn Middle School and Diefenbaker Elementary are proud to host an evening talk on Building Resiliency and Coping with Stress

About this Event

Miriam Granger and Taylor Robertson, social workers from a leading pediatric hospital, co-facilitate a workshop series for children and parents on how to deal with issues of bullying, stress, motivation and self-esteem.

On Wednesday June 5th, join us for a 90-minute talk on Building Resiliency and Coping with Stress geared to parents and caregivers who want to learn practical and proactive strategies to help their child cope with challenging issues. The floor will be opened for Q&A at the end of the presentation.

The evening event will be hosted at Cosburn Middle School with childminding available, free of charge.

PLEASE NOTE: This event is only open to parents and caregivers of TDSB Ward 15 and Ward 16 schools.

Miriam Granger, MSW, RSW [Photo Left]

Miriam Granger is a Registered Social Worker in pediatric healthcare. Her clinical and research interests include the impact of chronic illness on patients and families, how chronic illness impacts self-esteem and how children and adolescents cope with stress and bullying. She has published a book chapter and co-published several articles in these areas and has given presentations across the province on a wide range of topics related to child health and wellness.

Taylor Robertson, MSW, RSW [Photo Right]

Taylor is a Registered Social Worker in pediatric healthcare supporting children and families with chronic illness management. Taylor also currently works as part of a research team evaluating family and child health outcomes and psychosocial interventions targeted to enhance quality of life for children with chronic disease. Taylor has previous clinical experience in child protection and mental health treatment for children and youth who have witnessed/experienced trauma, abuse and neglect.
