Description

Calgary River Valleys invites you to a half-day field trip to learn more about the language of root wads, wattles and willows. Join us for a free tour of post-flood, riparian restoration projects along the Bow and Elbow.

  • 8:30 am: Registration & a light contintental breakfast
  • 9:00 am - 12:30 pm: Private coach tour with four interpretive stops along the Bow and Elbow Rivers. Representatives from City of Calgary Water Resources, Parks and Transportation Infrastructure along with Trout Unlimited will provide insight into the many unique considerations weighed when planning and implementing riparian restoration projects in the heart of a major city. Gain understanding into the vision behind completed and current projects as well as projects to come.
  • 12:30 pm: Return to Ramsay Community Centre
Please note we will be walking along paved and unpaved paths. Please dress prepared for walking and the weather.

Parking is available in the Ramsay Community Centre parking lot located behind the building.
