Registered Roots students are invited to a National Geographic Live presentation of Deadliest Lifesavers with Scientist-explorer Zoltan Takacs.

The Earth’s deadliest animal venoms are a source of a number of lifesaving medicines used to treat everything from heart attacks to diabetes. Yet there are millions of venom toxins in nature that remain unexplored. Biomedical scientist and inventor Zoltan Takacs collects snake, scorpion, jellyfish, and other venoms from around the world. Back in the lab, using cutting-edge genomics, he creates combinatorial venom libraries to identify leads for novel medicines.

Driven by his childhood passion, he’s traveled to 155 countries and become an aircraft pilot, scuba diver, and real-life survivor, roughing it in a hammock deep in the Amazon or on remote Pacific islands. IMPORTANT
Please arrive by 10 am! We will not be able to enter the theatre until our whole group arrives, so please be considerate to others and arrive on time. The Roots group will meet inside the lobby of the Jack Singer Concert Hall, near the coat check. Tanis will have a Roots sign, please check in with her to register (Late-comers will not be allowed to enter the theatre).

My child is not registered with Roots, can they still attend?

No, this fieldtrip is only for Roots studetns.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you do not have to bring a ticket. We will have a master list with all the registration info. Individual theatre tickets will not be issued, we will be directed to our reserved seats by theatre staff.

If I am unable to attend may I get a refund?

We're sorry but we are unable to provide refunds. But, please feel free to find another family to sell or pass along your tickets to.

Other Important Details:
Food, beverages, gum, cell phones, cameras and any recording devices are not allowed in the theatre. Please ensure that your students are aware of this.
