About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Join the River Valley Alliance’s Community Engagement Committee for a bike tour that starts at Government House Park and continues through the heart of the city.

What to bring:

  • This event is BYOB (bring your own bike or e-bike). Please make sure your bike is in good working order. One of our members will be available to help with any bike issues, and we will have a first-aid kit on hand.
  • We would also suggest wearing weather-appropriate clothing and bringing a water bottle to stay hydrated.

Parking: Parking is available at the parking lots located at Government House Park.

Route: It begins at Government House Park and travels along the River Valley bike trail under the High Level Bridge, explores the new Walterdale Bridge, goes past the Funicular lift, explores the Tawatina cycling/walking path under the LRT bridge and continues downstream to Dawson Park where we turn around and go back by the same route. It is about 18 km in length and mostly flat

Difficulty: Easy - Medium – this will be a longer ride of around 18 KM round trip. However, it will be a leisurely ride with opportunities to stop and take photos of the beautiful river views. The route is mostly flat.

Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time to check in and get situated. As a group, we will all be leaving promptly at 9:30 a.m. To help us keep to schedule, please arrive by 9:15 a.m.

  • A helmet and a bell are required for each participant to take part in this ride.

Please remember to dress for the weather. If inclement weather occurs, we will notify you of a cancellation.
